Remembering Fallen Trooper William Pautzke

Trooper William PautzkeTrooper William Pautzke died on May 8, 1930, at the age of 28. He died from injuries after his motorcycle collided with a gravel truck in King County. At the time of his death, Trooper Pautzke had served four years with the Washington State Patrol.

Susan Blaker, whose grandmother, Lucretia, was William Pautzke’s sister, is retired from the Liquor Control Board and is involved in Behind the Badge Foundation. Her sister, Donna lives in California. The owner of the Pautzke Bait Company is the cousin to Susan and Donna.

The Washington State Patrol Memorial Foundation (WSPMF), which was created in 1982, pays tribute to the memory of those officers who gave their lives while serving the citizens of the state of Washington. Trooper Pautzke, and the other twenty-eight WSP fallen officers, were honored at the WSP Memorial Foundation dinner on April 30, 2016, at the Tulalip Resort in Marysville, WA.
