Over the last month, the Washington State Patrol has participated in the 22 Push-Up Challenge.

Why 22?

Tragically, we lose an average of 22 veterans a day to suicide.

One push-up for every veteran life lost a day.

The Washington State Patrol currently has dozens of active duty Guard and Reserve soldiers within its ranks…with thousands more retired veterans.

We, as an agency, are committed to bringing awareness to this serious issue and helping create a community of support for those who have served.

We hope our participation will not only help raise awareness but also show our veterans how much we appreciate their service…

Thank you to the California Highway Patrol for extending this challenge and good luck to the Oregon State Police as they bring this movement to their home state. Most importantly, thank you to all those who have served. Your hard work, bravery, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. We see you, we support you, and we are always here for you.

Should you, or someone you know, need help, please contact the Veterans Crisis Line at: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or visit the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs for more information.
