Tumwater-An annual Washington State Patrol (WSP) employees Thanksgiving lunch and Combined Fund Drive raised nearly a thousand dollars for Saint Peter’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and led to the donation of 135 pounds of canned food to the Thurston County Food Bank.
Each year at its Tumwater Facility, the WSP Property Management employees host a Thanksgiving lunch for all staff of the agency. The one-hour event was created to bring employees of various divisions together to share a meal. Before they began eating, employees donate canned good and money that will be channeled to the PICU and Food Bank.
“This is a once-a-year opportunity for the great employees of the WSP to come together and grow closer as an agency,” says Chief John R. Batiste.” Our fundraising benefits the needy people of the community we proudly serve.”
Approximately 160 WSP employees took part in the fundraiser which has been an annual tradition at the agency for more than a quarter of a century.
